Italian Portfolio
Nebbiolo-driven Barolo from the Tortonian soils of Monforte d'Alba.
Tenuta Monforte was established in 1920 by the Rinaldi family, who assembled a small holding of south-facing vineyards on the steep hillsides above Monforte d'Alba. The estate remains family-owned, with the fourth generation now overseeing viticulture and winemaking.
The property farms 12 hectares of Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto across the Bussia and Ginestra crus. Fermentation is carried out in concrete with long macerations, and the Baroli are aged in large Slavonian casks following the classical Piedmontese approach.
Grus Drinks added Tenuta Monforte to its Italian portfolio in 2023, with allocations focused on fine-wine retail and restaurant partners in key North American markets.
